All of our safaris are operated by a locally based Afro Ventures Company - in Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Afro Ventures has always closely associated itself with concerned conservation bodies like the Endangered Wildlife Trust and the Chobe Wildlife Trust which are both concerned with the translocation of Black Rhino, as well as all aspects of preservation and conservation of wildlife areas and community based natural resource management projects.

By joining us on one of our scheduled safaris, we offer you the opportunity to contribute to the conservation of the unique wilderness areas of Southern Africa. In this way the host population and country of your safari directly benefits economically from your visit, and more effectively able to combat the pressures directed against conservation of wilderness areas.

Accommodations

Mobile Tented Safaris

Mobile Tented Safaris allow maximum flexibility, probably some of the best game viewing opportunities, and to take you off the beaten track. These safaris are for the more young at heart, and are based on  "limited participation". These safaris (in Botswana) include a support vehicle, back-up driver and camp assistant to perform all chores.

Good ablution facilities including hot showers are generally available, but one should be aware that in some African countries the ablution facilities may be in a state of disrepair... we therefore make use of private facilities wherever possible.

The majority of travelers who venture on our mobile tented safaris have never camped before, but soon acclimatize! The cameraderie, friendships and team spirit developed on a safari under canvass is almost as important as the fact that camping allows us to get of the beaten track and truly close to nature.

Our "Botswana a la Hemingway Safari" is an example of a safari under canvas. We ustilize a combination of lodges and mobile tented camps in typical East Africa style of the bygone era. This 13 day safari covers all the highlights of Botswana and is designed for travelers who demand the ultimate in luxury and exclusivity.

Accommodated Safaris

Accommodated safaris utilize small country lodges, hotels, safari camps and lodges, and at all times you are assured of personal service.

Scheduled safaris are strictly limited to a maximum of 10 participants per safari and each safari itinerary is carefully selected to cover the highlights and most beautiful and unspoiled wilderness areas of a particular country.

Our "Luxury Okavango Safari" is an example of an accommodated safari which covers the classic safari route between the Okavango Delta and Victoria Falls in Zimabwe. The safari lasts 9 days and caters to discerning safari guests who want to experience the lure of Africa in the lap of luxury.

We also customize private safaris for the independent traveler - our "Wings Safaris" and "A la Cartre Safaris" , which allow you to mix and match your own unique safari itineraries.

Please note that our "Wings Safaris" and "A la Carte Safaris" are not accompanied by a safari leader. These safaris allow you to tailor make your safari, and the management and resident naturalist staff at the respective lodges act as your hosts and lead your safari activities.

Transportation:

All vehicles are specially designed, comfortable 4x4 safari vehicles. Please note that some of the camps can only be reached by boat or light chartered aircraft.

Game Viewing / Activities:

All game viewing activities are conducted by our team of professional guides and the resident naturalist. Share their great love and intimate knowledge as you track lion, hyaena, leopard, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, buffalo and a great variety of antelope by open safari vehicle or on foot.
