A private nature reserve and a huge white beach... The exclusive Cousine Island has a long, unspoiled beach separating the warm, turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean from the lush tropical vegetation. The generated money will be donated the nature conservation. The island is a private nature reserve and home to five of the Seychelles’ endemic bird species. One of these was the Seychelles magpie robin, which had become virtually extinct – down to the last 70 birds left in the world, 12 being on this island – before it was rescued by a change of habitat. The island is not for those seeking nightlife and organized activities. There is a maximum of only 8 guests at any time on Cousine, so privacy and relaxation are guaranteed. Rates:Depending on the season, rent the ENTIRE ISLAND per day for up to 8 guests: EUR 4,800 (all inclusive). EUR 1400 per villa/night double occupancy. Add. 7% GST. LocationHelicopter, which takes 20 minutes from Mahé, is the only way to reach this paradise island. AccommodationThere are four large (175 sqm) air-conditioned villas built in the Old French Colonial style, nestling amongst natural vegetation, just thirty metres from a pristine beach. Each villa is positioned to ensure maximum privacy. The villa provides luxurious comfort with front and rear patios, a spacious bedroom, dressing room, separate lounge, large bathroom with jacuzzi, his and her showers. Each villa is equipped with a refrigerator, ice machine, tea and coffee-making facilities, satellite TV, video, CD/ cassette player, telephone, personal safe and hair dryer. All villas enjoy some of the best sea views in the Seychelles. Dining The food is essentially local. A variety of meals are served in healthy portions. As the sun begins to rise and the birds begin their day, you are greeted with the smell of freshly brewed coffee. A continental or English breakfast is offered with a wonderful choice of fresh fruit. Lunch is served at your convenience. You have the choice from either our menu, or if you want something lighter, just mention it to the chef or manager and if possible we will accommodate your requests. Dining in the main pavilion, you are treated to a four-course menu or, if you prefer, you can dine in your villa in total privacy. A romantic dinner on the beach can also be arranged. ActivitiesHiking, swimming, snorkeling, island hopping. Diving can be arranged through an operator from Praslin who will take you to different diving areas. Best time to travelThe climate is pleasant and mild throughout the year. Temperatures range from 24° C to 33° C and are not subject to sharp variations. Windsurfing and sailing are best at the start and end of the trade winds, usually around May and October. Diving is best in March, April, May, September, October and November.
