Manda Bay is one of the many unspoilt, idyllic islands within the romantic Lamu archipelago, situated on the Northwestern tip of Manda Islands, off the Kenya coast of Africa. The lodge lies in the calm inshore waters on a long sandy protected beach. “All Activity inclusive rate” available for an extra charge of US$ 130 per person per day.

Excludes : Dhow charters, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, archaeological site visits, gratuities and anything of a personal nature, and all boat trips. (Recommended minimum stay 3 nights).

Location

Manda Bay is located on the North-Western tip of Manda Island, which forms one of the many unspoilt, idyllic islands found in the Lamu archipelago. Surrounded by miles of soft white sand Manda Bay is the perfect retreat for families and honeymooners.

Accommodation

The cottages are all in keeping with the local landscape and are constructed using local materials. Six of the rooms are set right on the seafront and five are set in-between and slightly behind on higher ground. All the cottages have large ceiling fans and en-suite bathrooms. They all have their own private veranda overlooking the Indian Ocean. The central dining and bar area is also crafted using Lamu furniture and overlooking the bay is a separate lounge area. Manda Bay has its own private, fully fitted 60ft traditional dhow “Utamaduni”.

Best time to travel

The finest weather in Kenya runs from July until the end of February. Most days are mild and temperatures are warm.

Getting there

Scheduled flights with Air Kenya from Nairobi to Lamu daily at 1315. Alternatively, you can charter in straight from Nairobi.
