Location:

In the heart of the Okavango Delta in the Matsebe Concession Area, Pom Pom Camp is another jewel in our portfolio! Here, hippo grunt and frolic right in front of camp.

Pom Pom is surrounded by miles of reeds in which the "mokoro" offers a wonderful means of viewing the wildlife as you glide between palm fringed islands in the clear-water oasis.

Accommodation:

Accommodation consists o f nine luxury safari tents in true traditional safari style, all with full en-suite semi open ablution facilities.

The main building is attractively designed and constructed of thatch and canvas and comprises lounge, dining, bar and pool areas, as well as a gift shop and the boma area.

Around a campfire at night, camaraderie prevails as bushlore anecdotes are recounted. A gracious meal is prepared, and elegant wines uncorked. Over hot coffee and perhaps a fine cognac, you will relive the days' events and compare notes on fishing and photography -- and plan for another day that will be remembered long after you return to civilization.

The main mess tent offers table settings and imaginative meals prepared by our safari chefs, including fresh bread baked daily. A well-stocked bar and plentiful ice. The dining tent canopy affords comfortable shade from the midday sun.

In addition to the abundant big game, Pom Pom is a bird-watcher's paradise. Within the maze of water passages, you will find the busy pied kingfisher, along with countless other birds which flourish in the waterways.

One such bird common here is the African jacana, or lily trotter which, with its long sticklike legs, will run along the top of the lilies without causing so much as a ripple. Game drives are in Landrovers.
