Michelin Chef Robert Bowman is in charge
of the kitchen at The Outpost. Notwithstanding its remote location,
The Outpost strives to provide excellent cuisine.
The style of food reflects its
African surroundings. Care is taken to source the best produce
whether available locally or whether it is flown in fresh from
Johannesburg. |

Game Viewing
/ Activities:
| Guests are
woken by the sounds of beating drums, and tea / coffee and rusks are
served in the tents. Activities include early morning and afternoon
and evening game drives in open 4x4 drive vehicles.
During the
morning game drive, guests are normally taken on a walk as well (we
normally try to find some interesting spoor and track the animals,
under the guidance of an armed ranger). This is dependant on the
guests wanting to walk and is adjusted according to the group. |
 |
 |
During
game drives refreshments are usually served at a scenic spot,
particularly at sunset when the view from the Mowhareng Hills is
spectacular! After the morning drive, a huge breakfast is served and
guests can either relax at the pool or take a walk with one of the
rangers, or otherwise relax in the hide at the water hole next to
the camp. Lunch is served mid-afternoon and dinner is served in the
boma after the evening game drive, which comprises a 3-course meal
with a choice of main courses. |
