In the secret seclusion of
an idyllic valley in the western corridor of the Serengeti, Tanzania,
this splendid camp overlook a tributary of the Grumeti River which
drains into Lake Victoria. Alive with hippo and crocodiles, the river
is lined by tall riverine trees home to countless birds and troops of
Colobus monkeys. |

Accommodations:
| Grumeti River Camp is an
intimate assemblage of just 10 private tents, each with an en-suite
bathroom, set in the shade of leafy branches. In this remote corner of
the Serengeti plains, solar panels have replaced electrical power to
eliminate noise and pollution. Here in the stillness, gourmet meals
are served in the central dining area and adjacent bar. |

| At night,
around a starlit banquet, you can regale one another with stories of
the day's game sightings. Savor gourmet meals in our open-air boma
(enclosed reeded area) or nearby open-fronted dining area. Fusions of
sand and stone sparkle in the flickering boma firelight, merging with
the shape and moods of the land. We offer delicious
Pan-African cuisine - all meals at Grumeti are prepared on traditional
"jikos" (fires) and stone ovens. Private dinners may be arranged for
special occasions. |
