Secluded
in the heart of a world-acclaimed conservation area guests can
experience this exceptional safari camp.
Garonga is a camp that offers not only the
traditional African Big Game adventure, but also a holistic wildlife
experience.
Classic luxury, comfort and service is combined with
nature, throughout the camp, which has been designed to reflect the
textures of the earth with rough plastered walls and natural canvas
roofing, as well as in the activities offered. Garonga is set in the
11,113ha Makalali Conservancy. |

Accommodations:
| The Tented Rooms are
situated on a dry riverbed – each with a wooden deck that commands
spectacular views. The rooms are spacious, with large, draped beds. In
addition to the indoor shower, there is an outdoor shower that flows
outwards from the luxury of the room, providing a continuous link to
nature. Six
rooms, each with its own game viewing deck and hammock, are fully en
suite.
The Hambledon Suite, complete with hand-beaten copper bath, has
a distinctive Indonesian feel. The camp is our sanctuary – an organic
flowing space that spreads harmony around it.
In designing it we
rejected rigid thinking and created the natural flows of African
living. The result is as if the termites had combined forces over eons
to build us a monument celebrating nature.
It is almost as if we have
created a North African oasis – a tranquil haven sheltering us from
the wilderness without. |

Facilities:

Guests may sleep out on
their own on a beautiful deck with stunning views overlooking the
Veldt.
A Sumptuous Picnic Hamper, a Drinks
Box, and Hot drinks are left for them at the Deck. They are left
with a radio and will get collected in the morning.
A Wash basin and Toilet close by are
provided. It is a 20 minute drive from the main camp. A truly
magical experience! |

Game Viewing

Garonga’s holistic philosophy is to offer a safari for the soul, an
unhurried and intimate wildlife encounter – a time to reflect and find
inspiration in nature.
Activities include game drives,
wilderness walks, outdoor bush baths, sleep-outs, aromatherapy and
reflexology sessions are available, but many choose to lie in their
hammocks watching the grazing game in the river bed below. Walks:
We encourage
guests to walk up close to the animals, thus experiencing an in-depth
wildlife encounter.

Garonga offers the kind of
holisitic wildlife experience and relaxation you will search the earth
to find. Have an outdoor candlelit bath under the stars or be pampered
by the resident aromatherapist while gazing languidly over the nearby
