| This vast wilderness is
rich in wildlife and contains a wide variety that includes greater and
lesser Kudu, roan, and sable antelope and huge herds of elephant and
buffalo. Nearly 500 bird species have been sighted within the park. The
exciting Great Ruaha River features large numbers of hippo and crocodile
and attracts lion, leopard, hunting dog and numerous other species such as
Waterbuck impala, giraffe, warthog and eland. Grants gazelle, ostrich and
cheetah may be seen on the plains.
Game-drives through the Park, using one of our specially adapted vehicles,
will take you into unfrequented wildlife territory. Refreshing cold drinks
and picnics can be enjoyed in scenic surroundings.
Alternatively, short walking safaris, led by an experienced guide, give
you the opportunity to "touch the wild". The views have been described as
"the finest of any wildlife lodge or camp in Africa". |
