Ngala, which means
“place of the lion,” is the first and currently the only operating
private concession within the Kruger National Park.
\Occupying 14 000
ha of prime game-viewing land, Ngala Private Game Reserve is the
result of a unique agreement between the SA National Parks Trust and
CCAfrica. It is also the first ever joint conservation venture
between the private and public sector.

CC Africa's first
tented camp in South Africa features six deluxe tents on raised
platforms with secluded wooden decks. Each spacious tent has an
invigorating outdoor shower with mist nozzles as well as a bath
mounted on a rough-hewn wood base for pure, indulgent pleasure. You
can lie back and enjoy the extra-length beds while being cooled by a
gentle breeze from a quiet overhead fan. The tents feature wooden
sides with gauze screen windows, where delicate breezes from the
bushveld sweep in to keep you cool.
On winter nights, you can snuggle up in the warm electric blankets.
All year round, giant shady trees form a cool green canopy over this
tranquil camp.
Ngala Tented Safari Camp is an elegant and luxurious tented camp
with a fresh and contemporary feel. Classic and witty elements from
the 1950s to the 1970s have been integrated into the camp's lounge,
dining and living areas. Architecturally, the camp has been designed
along clean lines with timeless, sophisticated styling.
Chic and modern, the camp's guest areas overlook the Timbavati
riverbed which draws much wildlife to its tree-lined banks. Next to
a nearby waterhole is the intimate hide which allows you to see and

In the camp, an elegant
rim-flow lap-pool which merges with the contours of the river-bank
is an ideal guest watering-hole on hot summer days.
From here,
visitors can watch prides of lions lolling in the sun and huge herds
of buffalo or elephant crossing the wide, dry river-bed in what is a
veritable bird and game-watchers’ paradise.

| CCAfrica’s first tented
camp in SA is located in big game, big sky country. This is Africa –
the real thing. At Ngala, twice daily game-drives in open Landrovers
and guided nature walks offer regular sightings of the “Big Five”
plus both black and white rhino. The area is the home range of a
resident black rhino and can’t be beaten for an authentic wilderness
experience. The
combination of habitats at Ngala attracts not only herds of
elephant, but an abundance of buffalo, white rhino,
giraffe and antelope, while Africa's great cats - lion, leopard and
cheetah, follow silently in their tracks.
The vast terrain enables
the wide-ranging and rare wild dog to thrive, whilst elusive
nocturnal animals include the armadillo-like pangolin and the
African wildcat. Guests are able to explore 14,000 hectares of Big
Game Country, with the highest density of Lion in the Kruger Park. |
