Kapama River Lodge

Each of the spacious rooms features a full en-suite bathroom and enjoys uninterrupted views of this game rich reserve. The central guest entertainment areas include a tiered swimming pool, lounge, curio shop and boma. Meals are of a buffet style and offer a variety of Pan African dishes. Kapama River Lodge presents numerous package options allowing guests various choices in designing their safari experience. Packages range form a dinner, bed and breakfast option to t fully inclusive experience including dawn and evening safaris in open landrovers conducted by qualified ranger’s Guided walks are also available.

The lodge has been created mindful of the need to accommodate large, private game lodge incentive groups, and provides numerous incentive activities including ‘the Amazing Race”, hot air ballooning and team building activities.

Kapama Game Reserve is located in close proximity to Eastgate Airport with the lodge providing open vehicle transfers. Kapama’s location in the central Lowveld region creates the perfect base from which to explore the numerous attractions. 

Buffalo Camp consists of eight luxury double canvas tents with private bathroom facilities provide an authentic, intimate safari experience in the African bush. Built on the theme of an East-African safari camp of bygone days, Buffalo Camp offers visitors to the African bush a unique and intimate experience. 

Buffalo Camp is ideally suited to those who wish to experience the essence of the bushveld without compromising on comfort. Each tent has private bathroom facilities and is interconnected to other tents by wooden walkways high above a sandy river bed. Hot water is provided by an ingenious and effective African boiler.

The tents, open-air bar, dining room and campfire area are set in an indigenous garden. At night, lanterns, rather than electric lights, glow under the canopy of tree tops and contribute to the ambience of the camp.

Respite from the heat of the African summer is offered by the camp's refreshing swimming pool. The day's adventures may be shared in the cool open-air bar with its spectacular view over the river bed. With the guidance of knowledgeable game rangers and its unrivalled comfort, Buffalo Camp is a truly authentic way to experience the African bush.

Whether you choose to dine under the stars or in the dining room overlooking the camp and lake, superb cuisine and individual attention are assured. Dine under the stars around a campfire in the lapa where you are assured of a superb meal, served together with the ambience of an African night. Outside the dining room guests will find another area where open-air breakfasts or lunches are served, allowing them to enjoy the outdoors while savoring first-class cuisine.After an exhilarating day's activities, the warm ambience of the lounge provides a cozy atmosphere to swap tails of the day's game viewing adventures.

Game Viewing Activities:

Accompanied by highly skilled game rangers, guests set out on early morning and evening game drives, to discover the wonder of the African bush and a unique encounter with its majestic inhabitants. In addition to our inclusive safari experience, guests are welcome to participate in numerous other activities and these include:
- Elephant back safaris
- Clay pigeon shooting
- Visit to the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre
- Bushveld sleep outs
- Bush dinners
- Guests are encouraged to join their ranger on a bush walk to explore the environment.
