Lord Delamere's Camp - Lake Nakuru (Kenya)

Location:

The camp is  located on the shoreline of the alkaline Lake Elmentaita.... on the 16,000 acre Soysambu Wildlife Sanctuary, which is reserved exclusively or the Delamere's family and the few guests of Delamere's Camp. 

Accommodation and Facilities:

15 en-suite tented accommodation units, with two single beds.
1 en-suite family tented accommodation unit, with two twin beds, one queen size double bed - that can also convert into a wonderful "honeymoon suite". 240 Volt electricity 24 hours, flush toilet with hot & cold running water. 1 en-suite tree blind , 7 kms from nowhere, with 2 bunk beds (although 6-8 pax have been known to "bunk up" with one another, and a floodlight waterhole for a wonderful night of solitude in the "original tree house".

Without electricity, but has flush toilet with cold running water & shower. Private 1600 meter grass airstrip capable of most twin engine aircraft. 16,000 acres of prime African Savannah Woodland deep inside the Great Rift Valley. 3 x 7 seater open sided, Savannah Camps Toyota Hi-Lux Game Drive Vehicles.

Activities:

From Aardvarks to Zorillas, Soysambu is one of the few places in Kenya where one has the opportunity to stalk wild game animals on foot. You can experience silent and still vigils in strategically placed game blinds offering views of truly undisturbed birdlife. Our unrivalled opportunities for night-time game drives, offer viewing of nocturnal wildlife rarely seen by those other visitors restricted to the national parks and reserves: An optional night, sleeping out in the solitude of the "Chui" blind, a four bed, (en-suite) "tree house" overlooking a small waterhole deep within the sanctuary is yet another exciting activity uniquely available at Soysambu. Our resident naturalists, form a great team of driver / guides and trackers each with their own varied and in-depth knowledge and interpretative skills will open your eyes to the disappearing Africa.

They encourage an appreciation for the lesser known mammals, insects, reptiles and birds of East Africa - not to mention a fascinating insight into the traditional uses of many of our native plants. We shall share our love of Africa, and our extensive knowledge of the wildlife with you, so that your time at Soysambu will be a safari within a safari, an unforgettable wildlife experience, an education that will stay with you for many years to come.
